Plus the David Vizard book on how to build max performance on a SBC with a budget, so I don't keep asking moronic questions.
The headers are being drop-shipped to HPC coatings in Utah, to do the coating right (I don't trust some facility in Tijuana, Mexico to do anything), inside & out.
I'm having an Accel AFPR put on for a bit of tuning, along with a small bump in timing.
Should be installed in about 3 weeks. I'll report my subjective findings (the only ones that would really ever matter to me) then
Phase II is reserved for next summer - cam, intake, custom chip, and a couple other minor goodies. This is the harder part, the damn cam is still under investigation and probably will be for months
That should make a nice installation. With the areas you are addressing, you haven't skimped anywhere. You are aware that the 2149's are coated, aren't you? Only on the outside, however, as I understand it. I had mine coated by HPC, locally, and they came back beautiful. I'm waiting to install my headers with a new engine. For your exhaust system, you might be thinking about your cat and mufflers. Good luck, and...
It sounds like you have have a good plan there and should enjoy some nice power gains from those mods.
After you do a little reading in Vizard's book the choice of cam and head work will be easier as you will have the basis to build the plan and see how the parts interact to achieve the goal.
Thanks to both of you, I value your opinions & advice :yesnod: Yes, I;m fully aware that Hooker coats the outside but I want a much better job all the way around.
As for the David Vizard book, I took that advice directly from 65Z01 (among alot of other things)
 = the beers I owe to Jim when he comes to Corvettes at Carlisle next year :D
TIMSPEED: it may be that you didn't tune with an AFPR, and bump timing by 2-4 degrees? This will a FULL exhaust job should most definitely wake up an L98.
