Are Iroc 5speed transmissions compatable on C4 Vettes?
Hello, Ive beeen exploring the idea of converting my 85 automatic to a manual.I know where there is a 89 Iroc for sale with a five speed trans.After reading the responses to my post about converting my car to a standard I know that I could purchase this whole Camaro for the same price of the parts I need by themselves,but I dont know if they are even compatable.

No its not compatible as is. There is no way to mount the C Beam onto the rear of the transnmission. It can be done but not without spending a lot of cash. But with enough cash just about anything can be done.

Don't even think about putting a camaro 5 speed into a vette, the 5 speeds in camaros were only put behine v6's and 305's. They were never even put behind the 350's in camaros because the trans is just too weak and can't handle the power. If your going to go manual, use a richmond 6-speed or zf6 or maybe even a t56 but not a t-5 from a camaro. I pulled out my 4+3 manual and built up a automatic with full manual shifting capabilities and it works great.
