Ok, reading the posts, both archived and current, I'm really on the fence with whether or not to replace my resonator and put on muffler elims, or stay with what I've got. A post down below gave me an idea. Click on the link to hear what the MagnaFLows without the resonator sound like, and give me you opinion on whether I should do the switch.
Thanks.
Jim
(The alims will be flanged as well as the Magna Flows for easy swapping. The mufflers are just so quiet with the resonator in place)
Well, since your looking for "opinions", I've always got one of those. It is my "opinion", that the cats are what keep a Corvette exhaust tamed. Remove them and even the factory exhaust comes alive. With some aftermarket exhaust such as Corsa, it sounds really mean, but still disciplined.
Another of my favorites is running Thrush glasspacks in where the resonators presently are and then straight pipe the rest of the way back to the bumper with some cool chome tips for looks.
Yeah, my muffler guy suggested the glass-pack looking muffler to replace the resonator. As for the cats, sorry, I'm a "Cahlifaunia" boy with a budget (sorry Arnold). If I wasn't, I'd be all over long tubes, 3" pipes and a Procharger!
