When uninstalling my runers and plenum all the bolt came out fine except one it is completly striped and the torx I was using is striped also? Any suggestions on how to remove it?
I don't remember whether the runner holes are threaded or not. If they are not I would just carfeull grind or drill the head off the bolt, pull the runner off and then use vise grips or another tool to turn what was left. If that didn't work an EZ out style broken bolt remover. If the runner holes are threaded I would probably first try to slot the bolt with a dremel or hacksaw and use a screwdriver. If that didn't work, then to the aforementioned EZ out. I would put plenty of penetrating lube on it for a day or so first tho. Perhaps get out the hot wrench (MAPP Torch) depending on proximity to fuel lines, etc and on how lucky I felt that day. Good Luck!
Runner holes are not threaded unless it is the one with the bolt going in from under the fuel rail, but using an easy out tool may be easier than grinding off the remaining part of the hex bolt head.
I just went through something similar. I was trying to remove my runners, when I missed a bolt. I thought they all went in from the outside of the compartment, in. But there is the one that enters from the manifold, towards the outside.
I would not use an easy out. I would use a small bit and drill the middle out. Then, I would work up to larger bits until the fastener collapses in on itself.
