At first, it seemed really loud for some reason. After about 100 miles, the sound wasn't nearly as bad. Hopefully its just getting broken in and will continue to go away. I'm loving this shift kit! No more waiting a sec for it to shift from Rev to Drive; now it's instant. Also love that shift into third gear. I ran the car in both city (but mostly highway) for about 100 miles before I decided to give it a little hard launch. Wasn't expecting to keep traction in this cold, so I just kept ASR on and didn't launch it too hard. As expected, I broke traction rather easily with the new torque converter (i think its a 2000 instead of 2200). It stayed above 2000 rpm nearly all of the time but once it shifted into 3rd, BAM! :steering: Threw me back in the seat. I was like, wow. I certaintly didn't remember that before. I didn't let it get into 4th, seeing as it is its first day back on the road.
The car definitely behaves differently now. Feels like its always wanting to just get launched if I'm 50mph or below, which is kinda cool and bad at the same time. I think I'll just get used to it for now and see how I like it. I must say the bad vibration I was getting for years has finally gone away. No more bad vibes at 1250 rpm anymore.
One thing is for sure, I can't wait for next Spring, already. I wanna take it to the track to see what it can do. :auto:
Yea these cold roads suck. I had the vette out today and couldn't goose it at all, the rear end was all over the place when I did. :( I was so used to the stock converter I forgot how the new one drove in the cold.
You given any thought into joining the Great Lakes Corvette Challenge next year? Most of the races were at Byron this year. That's a hop skip and a jump away from DeKalb.

That sounds like it would be a ton of fun. Now that I'm back in IL fulltime again, I'd like to get more involved in some events around here. That GLCC sounds like it would be a blast. I think I might just get into that.
