was driving my 94 and all of a sudden it lost power and had no acceleration.
i dont have cats but that is what it sounds like when i rev it up .
i checked compression and all cyls are around 150/175 psi. i checked fire all are firing.
i have a paxton s/c so i put a vac guage on a manifold line and there is no boost. but the s/c is working good.
i disconnect the out side of the s/c and rev the engine =good pressure.
it sounds like a 6 cyl.
pulled valve covers and all rockers looked good /properly adjusted.
i know in the morning when i have some daylight i will figure it out but wow i just dont get it, it just makes a "rushing" sound from the exh. any ideas?
FWIW, I've seen the inner wall in an exhaust pipe collapse and the obstruction will make a rushing sound. The increase in back pressure will cause the car to die if it is bad enough and it does make a wierd sound.
i finally got a good view of the situation this morning. i checked all have good fire . no exhaust problems. all timing is correct.
i was letting it run while unplugging the injectors to see the effect of dropping cyls, well i had 4 not firing.
running on 4 cylinders and did not vibrate like a paint shaker?
i thought only running on 4 it would shake and act differentlt than it did
long and short my new injectors seem to have put a little more load on the power feed via the 10a fuse in the pannel(2 fuses 4 injectors each) replaced the fuse all was well.. thanks for the input
