Hello,
I have purchased the rear bolts and the front wedges to lower our 89 coupe, my question is do I have to remove the front spring completly in order to install the wedges, and do I need a spring compressor for the spring or can I do it with my regular shop tools?
Thanks
Paul
I would say yes, you need to remove the spring. At least free it from one knuckle at a time. I don't think you will be able to get at the mounting points for the shims unless you do. Others should chim in on this as this is a very popular mod............
Yes you have to remove the spring. Get your car up as high and safe as humanly possible. You don't have to use a spring compressor. Ball joint puller will come in handy though. There is a tech tip in the tools section that will shed some light. Not that hard to do.
