Default question about thermos

over here in fl. its going to get cold shold i put in a 180 or a 160 i dont have a chip so would 160 work with my system

also i think my fan is hot wired to my batt. when i turn the key on it comes on and it does not stop. its going to a little box but there is no switch to turn it on or off

right now my system starts to cool down around 215 at first start up once it hits 215 it drops down to about 200- 205 even when its about 40 out side?

thank for all the help

What year is your car?

Several things you have mentioned seem to be a little concerning, such as fans running all the time....not having a chip....and temps going to 215.

 Still not exactly sure of what you are describing, but if the fans run continuously and the engine gets hot and then cools down, define hot and cool please.

You might want to do a thorough cooling system check including pulling the radiator and cleaning the area of trash...find out why the fans run continuously

Did you buy thei car from someone? Is it possible the seller had the fans rigged to mask a problem?
