Electric vacuum pump???
I'm sure they're not as good as the belt driven ones, but I'm wondering if the electric ones will be sufficient for my crank case evacuation issues.

The main drawback is that you are going to have an electric motor running any time the engine is running. Finding one that is rated for continuous duty maybe the problem. I think the best method for crankcase ventilation is what Black Bart uses on his car. Which is similar to what the drag racers uses which has tubes welded at or near the collectors. There are a set of check valves at these points where tubing connects to the valve covers where there are a set of oil separators. During cruise speeds and higher there more than enough vacuum from the exhaust system to evacuate the crankcase.

I have this converted air pump now vacuum pump for my 408 89 C4. A little overkill for a street car, but I have to retain something in place of the air pump pulley so I decided to make it useful by putting a air pump in it's place. GZ motorsports provided the pump and custom pulley (larger 8") to slow the pump down to about 60-70% crank speed. In order to make the pump live for street driving I'm gonna feed oil to the sunction side via a small orfice from a pressure port. I should expect about a 12HP gain but more importantly I'll prevent my intake charge from getting contaminated with octane lowering oil fumes. If you have any ??? e-mail me. Good Luck!
