PS The fan turns on and off and the heater core is re-routed so I do not belive it is one of those.

You may have an airlock and or a bad rad cap. When your engine is cold open the rad cap and start your motor. Let it warm up completely then look into the rad for coolant movement. If it's present reach over and hold throttle around 2000 rpm and look back into rad. If you see coolant drop add more while holding throttle. Place cap on loosely and release throttle. In a few minutes repeat until rad is completely full. Check it again later in the day.
You may also have a ton of crap infront of radiator. You can pull the plastic shroud on top and take a look. Also test your rad cap or replace it since their cheap.
Good Luck

For the oil burning whats it doing? are you adding oil all the time? does it smoke all the time?(Rings) or is it steam,(signs of a blown head gasket)Does it just smoke a little when you start it( worn valve guides and or seals)????????
