i had the same problem with my 91 you are correct the switch is seperating when you go on a slant. i replaced both switches rather than rig it up with tape or gum like some people i know.
Check the hatch switch as well. This happened to me, I'm going on my thrid hatch switch. As a temporary measure, I've unplugged the hatch switch, it has no effect on the alarm. I bought a replacement door switch and it didn't fix the problem, maybe yours will.
My 91 convertible (flexible flyer) does this, too, on angled driveways and sometimes on hard left turns.
I guess it could be the convertible hatch mechanism; I will have to check if popping that open also gives a door ajar signal.
However, it looks like the alignment of the door ajar switches is a little off, as verified by a small dot of grease in the center of the door ajar switch. Since the doors line up correctly in the vertical and horizontal and are closing correctly, I guess I will have to resort to some sort of shim material on the little black body buttons. What are others using that doesn't look too bad?
My Vette has had 8 door ajar sensors.....they are cheap plastic JUNK (thanks GM :mad ) The dealership replaced 4 in one day on my Vette....3 were bad from GM :smash:
