Default NOS questions can someone help??

I am getting a TPI set up for my 84 and a TPI NOS KIT for it. My question is do i need to do any mods to the car to make the nos kit work. the kit i am getting comes buttons gauges, warmer and purger. will i need a new tranny??? I was told i may, and will it mess up my engine i have a 86 350 bored over out of a 86 suburban that has 9-1 compress. I have a auto tranny let me know thanks

Assuming all is in good mechanical condition, and depending on how much juice you plan on running, the only thing I would worry about is taking out the tranny. It is a 700R4 is it not?

I would also add a RPM Window switch so that you can set it to come on at 3000rpm and off 3-400 rpm before the rev limiter.

Make sure it's a 'wet' kit, limit yourself to a 100 shot and change nothing else. Tranny will be fine, engine will be fine, all will be fine. :yesnod:

Well i think that the kit i am buying is a 150 shot its on a 9-1 comp. and with the TPI setup, so if i get the 150 shot it will mess up my trans and engine?? I was told it wont because i know a guy that has NOS kit on a go cart.

He is probably running a 5hp shot on that go cart. Talk about comparing apples to oranges though. Pill it down to a 100 shot and you will probably never hurt a thing.

:iagree: Keep this in your mind....(Some) nitrous will not hurt your engine/trans. (A lot) will KILL IT. (Some) = 100 or less. (A lot) = over 100. This is for a V8 engine. This intricate calculation changes if it's a V6, 4 cyl or whatever.

The HP of N2O can be changed with the jetting. Check with the manufacturer for the proper nozels for 100 HP and you will be OK.
