I have seen many different kinds/brands of brake upgrades for C4s. I mostly just want to stop the fastest possible without getting into serious $$. Is there a generally accepted "best" all around or is it just everyones individual taste? I have even seen a C5 conversion, but then why not a Z06?
I ended up going with the C5 package. I bought all the brake parts from Superior Chevrolet, the adaptors from fellow Forum Member, Edsalinas, and SS brake hoses from Mid America. The total package ran me around $ 800.00. It can be done cheaper. I opted for the ceramic pads and the Durastop Delco rotors. Non-high performance rotors can be purchased for around $25 each from Napa. A lot of C5 guys are running those. Regular pads also help reduce the cost. With just the regular stuff, I think it would run around $500.00. You may also want to keep an eye on the C5 parts section. A lot of them upgrade to larger brakes and sell their stuff off cheap. I wanted the red Z06 calipers, so I didn't bother looking there. Hopefully, after the first of the year, I will get the time to install the upgrade.
I'll be finding out tomorrow if they fit "Detroit Wheels" A-mold reproduction wheels today since I need to mount my race set on it. Fits the 18x9.5 Z06 wheels just fine. :D

Guess its everyones taste, my 2 cents is, if your keeping stock rims and not racing, why spend that kinda money,, ? I just replaced the rotors with slot style ($90 set) , new pads and painted the calipers, she looks good and stops on a dime... but each to their own.
Heck, the guy I bought my car from paid that kind of money for a 4 wheel standard brake job !!
This is just for the front. I am not going to do the rear conversion, since there really isn't any advantage of it. I am going to paint my rear calipers to match the Z06 front calipers.
