Powder Coated Krome with Clear
A few people asked me to post pics of my valve covers. I had to soak the covers in carb cleaner for about a week then took several abrasives to it; starting with 80 grit and working my way to 800 grit (not much more gained here from 600)
I had the valve covers Krome powder coated as well "clear" coated. The clear coat dulled out the finish (which my "coater" informed BEFORE) and added a pearl type finish.

Did you ever get them really smooth? I heard that the mag. is too porious. I'm looking at a wrinkle type finish (ie. the old Mickey Thompson type), but so far, staying stock. I'd like to see shots when they are on the engine. :cheers:
