I saw that Richmond has a 6 speed in the latest Summit catalog (or Jegs, can't remeber), but it said that it was a replacement for the 1985 4+3, but it did state that it had the torque arm fastener ( I was wondering if that would fit my 1991) ... Oh yes, if Richmond has a bolt in 6-speed, I'm there as soon as I tear this one up... On second thought,.... anybody want to buy a ZF6-speed with 40,000 miles on it... never raced or abused.....? Me run an automatic.... NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a Corvette man, not a Caprice.. ( I know, I know... it's just not my personal preference.....)
The Richmond in summit only handles I think less then 600hp? How much more durability do you get by cryo? HP/TQ wise? I think he was mentioning to mean the T400 since I was talking about getting one and I already have an auto. But I really want a 6 speed! How much would you sell your ZF6 trans for?

:iagree: I love to row my own ,too! But red 91's is already an auto. it's alot of work (and $$$) just changing over to the stock 6spd stuff. Let alone custom stuff that has to be made to work. If you read all about that guy's conversion, he had trouble getting the stick in the right spot, and a bunch of other hassles. Not saying it's too hard, but just wondering if it all is really worth it. (just my experience with the t-56 boxes has left a bad taste in my mouth.) They are great if you don't have too much traction. Bolt on slicks and Ive seen cracked cases, ripped out syncros. stuck in 4th (bent forks or rail or something, I dunno It was under warranty) and 3rd gear with half it's damn teeth missing and the debris jammed into the gears by the output shaft and locked it solid while the kid was doing 50 mph. Granted my friends drive these damn things like they stole them, but man theyreally break ALOT. I have never (short of worn syncros) heard of anybody breaking their zf-6. I even started a thread here about 2 mos ago about it. No one breaks them. period. cryo'd or not. http://www.zfdoc.com/S6-40remanufacture.htm
Wow, and I though I had a lot of fab. work on my set up... you da man...! That thing looks serious.....!!!!!!!!!!
From where did your accessory drive originate?
You should swing by sometime and let me "hit" some of those aluminum pieces with my buffing wheel...
With my ZF6 I also have a brand new street twin installed that has never seen pavement.... I would sell it if I thought a Richmond would be a plug-in deal... Or I may just keep it as a spare...Don't ZFs usually go for about $2,500 on E-bay?

Yea I always get carried away with projects! lol Those are the stock LT1 drives. When I got started I made a list of thing I wanted to keep. A/c , stock bracketry cruise and basically, it just snowballed around that. Id have to say the goofiest thingI had to do that ended up working really really well is that enormous rear radiator. it makes the car hook nasty! with street tires! and tons of hp! :chevy

here is a video of me destroying the clutch@9psi with brutal hp. lol.
Time for the twindisc!
    DA@MN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want a turbo!!!!! And a 6 speed! I couldn't hear the turbo spooling up though when you got on it, and no blow off valve? I love the sound of the turbo spooling up then the blow off valve. I can't wait to do it to all the ricers around here, since that is all the do to me thinking im going to be scared. I am still thinking of swapping in a 6speed, the ZF6 should have no problems bolting up right? I just have to find a place to get the pedals and everything else, or I have been thinking of buying an LT1 vette witha 6 speed already in it, that would be a lot easier, I don't know what im doing yet, I just know I have to get a turbo. That video was insane!
WEll, the open exhaust kind of drowns everything out. It's just a 4" pipe running from the turbo to the rear end. no muffler. If you were in the car in person you'd here the turbo and the enormous TIAL BOV. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...boByGarrettCTR from garret directly.
