HELP - DRIVERS WINDOW LEAKING BAD ON A 89 COUPE
I was wondering if anyone knew if the window on an 89 coupe can be adjusted? I have water leaking where the top meets the windshield pillar. The top meets flush with the pillar. When you look at it you are able to see that the window looks as if it needs to go up a little bit more. The weatehr striping is all new on the car. I bought the weather striping from Ecklers ($750.00) Since I have replaced it about 2 years ago, It has been leaking. Now that I have adjusted the doors, It is still leaking. I move the top of the door in a little more and that did not cure the problem. You are able to see that the top of the door is in more then the bottom. I am not able to raise the door anymore for the window to meet the weather striping. The hood will hit the door and the latch will not be alighned to the striker. I know this is a long question, But before I take the door panel off. I was hoping that someone would be able to help or guide me in the correct direction. I did have the doors off a few months ago to have the car painted. Thinking that when the doors where reinstalled that maybe my leak would be cured. Ha on me :-) No such luck.

It's been a while since I had adjusted mine, so I can't give you specifics, but yes, the window can be adjusted for travel. You'll have to probably remove the inside trim panel to get the the adjustment bolts. There are several adjustments (front travel, rear travel, tilt, etc.), so unless you are familiar with them already, adjust a little bit at a time and see what effect it has. If you go too far with too many adjustments at once, you can end up with worse problems than you have now.

Unless the front guide is pushing the window out too far you will need to remove the inner door panel.
I think that you can reach the bolts that hold the glass to the regulator without removing the rear Al access panel.

I thank all of you for responding to the post. I am glad that this window can be adjusted. I did not want to take the door panel off and start moving things around to find out that this was not an adjustable window. Now maybe I can stop laying towels down inside the car. Thanks again so much for the help. I will make the adjustements in small increments so that I don't risk breaking the glass. That would be a problem I would rather avoid.
