RPO codes are the factory's option labeling system. (LT-1, LT-4, Z-51, FX3, etc.)
Usually 3 digits, they are for anything added, or deleted, from the car.
From the paint to the transmission, to the radio, it told the factory what your car was to be equipped with.
Dealerships and repair shops use them to find out what options you have, when you need to replace something.
There is a Web site that has most if not all of the RPO codes for Vettes. I don't know off hand what the address is but if you do a search on this forum I'm sure it'll come up.
