Default Pre-Cat Elims (L98)

Once I get a little more money (after Christmas), my plans were to go on down to a muffler shop and get some pipe welded in place of my pre-cats, will this affect my emissions to the point I can't pass? Those stupid things restrict too much!

You should be fine; I have no pre-cats and the 3-stage Random Tech. main cat and easily pass OH e-check in winter in full race trim.

Your best bet is to have a mandrel-bent 2 1/2" front Y fabricated; SS is the material of choice.

I had no precats, and a normal Random Tech Main Cat (As opposed to Jim's 3-stage) and I passed the CA smog test no problem.
