Yeah, I picked the cam. It is very streetable. It has a decent lope and it doesn't stall out on me. It has really good pick up to. The first night I had my car back, a beefed up 55 chevy rolled up on me hangin out the window. I knew he could hear the cam lopin' and poppin'. And then at a different light on the same street, jeep was 2 lanes over, and was overtly revving his engine tryin to egg me on so he could hear it. Thanks for the link to, I'll check it out.

Larry at Doug Herbert told me that engines he's built with those combinations have 400-430hp, and he's been building SBC's a long time.
Do you still have, and are those estimates, with the Crossfire intake manifold? Unlike a manual transmissioned car, there is no lighter flexplate, like there is a light flywheel. Unless you want an SFI approved flexplate (not required until you break under 10 flat) go with a stocker. It's about as light as you're going to get. Good luck, and...
Re: ::UNKNOWN PROBLEM HELL! PLEASE READ:: (CFI-EFI)
Thanks CFI-EFI, I think I'll still look though, even though your probably %100 correct. I called about a flexplate the day I found out, and I believe they either wanted to know the size, or the weight of my harmonic balancer to keep the entire assembly balanced. Anybody know what it is on an 84?
Re: ::UNKNOWN PROBLEM HELL! PLEASE READ:: (84Coyote)
They want to know about the damper for a flexplate replacement? That makes NO sense. The stock 1984 L83 takes the same damper as subsequent L98s. I believe it is about 6 3/4" diameter. The flexplate is for an internal balance 350 engine, if you've made no changes. Your engine has the 1985 and earlier, 2 piece crankahaft seal. This affects the bolt pattern to the crank. It is approx 12 1/4" in dia. (not 14") and has 153 teeth. If that isn't enough info, you're definitely shopping at the wrong place. Good luck, and...
