I tried it like 8 years ago. It said the cam in my 71 Nova was a little too big, and that the one in my 67 Nova was a little too small. It was probably right on, for daily driver status. My 71 is a pretty "hot" driver though, and I put up with alot of barely streetable items on a daily basis.
I wasn't aware of it until this post of yours. I have been doing a lot of agonizing over cam specs for awhile, now. I will check it out and see how different variables change the spec. I assume it is on their web site? Thanks, and...
Havent tried it but wondering if the analysis performance oriented or leaning toward stock numbers?Does it consider the drivetrain/gearing and other things as well or just engine builds alone?
Just wondering...

RACE ON!!!
I suspect it's one of those things that you have to buy. It comes in either a flopy style, so it can't be too big a program.
Re: CompCams CamQuest Computer Program (ninetyfivevette)
It was free when I got it.... years ago. Dont know if its still free or not. Mine had to work in DOS, and I dont have it anymore. It was installed on my old P-2 200mhz desktop thats long gone.
Thanks, I downloaded it too, but can't run it. I keep getting an error message. Now I have ton figure a way to boot to DOS, maybe using my Emergency boot disk will work.
Set path C:\;C:\Diacom-p;C:\Camquest;C:\Camquest\Data
The program would then run, but the program wants to send the results to a printer. DUH! The printers are hooked up to my upstairs PCs and Camquest won't run on those. Catch 22.
So I was able to read some minimal data, but not the detailed report that CamQuest claims to have prepared.
So, I either have to hook up the laptop on one of my upstairs printers or figure out how to get it to run on one of the PCs.
Jake,
I am a computer "dummy". They have even written books addressed to me. I don't know if this helps or not, but on the Windows 98 shut down screen there is an option, "restart in MS DOS mode". Maybe this will help you use your desktop, rather than your laptop. Good luck, and...

COMPUTE ON!!!
Won't help me because I'm running ME and it doesn't have that shut down option. Thanks anyway.
