I'm looking to buy a cordless drill or Impact drill to change tires at the race track. I can't find anyone at the hardware stores that can agree on what size I need. I hear 14v to a 18v cordless drill Is ok. Then I hear that only a cordless impact drill will work. Has anyone on this forum changed their tires with a cordless device that can offer me some help? Also which drive Is needed 1/2 or 3/4 ?
Thanks!!!
I would recommend a 1/2" impact drill.Without the impact, a drill won't be able to bust loose your nutz.Go check out the selection at sears.I saw some nice Dewalts there.I wold also get the highest voltage you can afford. 18volt
or bigger should do fine. :chevy
Is there any cordless unit that can break 100 ft/lb free?
Not that I'm aware of. We use the 1/2" drive snap on cordless impacts at work and if it's torqued over ~50ft. lbs., you have to break it with a ratchet or bar first.
Thanks for the help guys, you saved me $250.00 I was about to spend $300
on a cordless Impact wrench and the Roadpro Impact Is only $40 plus $10 shipping.
