I have a 1992 with 50,000 miles on it that I bought from a middle aged couple about 2 months ago. Since then I had noticed that my cooling fans run almost constantly. I have had the cooling system flushed and filled by the GM dealership that I work at and it still does the same thing. Coolant temperatures are running 210 or below. Fans are even on when first starting in the morning. They run for a minute or two, shut off for 15-20 seconds or so and then kick back on. I have the HVAC system set to Auto, would this cause this condition?
I don't believe that someone has modified the stock programming (chip) to turn the fans on sooner. They pretty much run all of the time, even when the temperature gauge reads 130 degrees.
Re: Cooling fans runs almost constantly, Normal? (92LT1Auto)
It's all good! They should come on at start-up, then go out, but with the climate control on they run almost all the time.Try turning off the CC and see if they stop. :chevy
