Got the new Summit Catalog and inside they now have Lt1 heads from Trick Flow Specialties. It shows 195cc ports with 2.02 and 1.6 valves. It does have 64cc comb chambers though. They are only 1295 which is cheaper than most people will port and polish the stock LT1 heads for. Anybody heard of these or know any flow numbers? I can't seem to find any other info on Tirck Flows webpage or anywhere else for that matter.
I got the same catoluge.I was all geeked up also, but here is the hook.It says 64cc combustion chamber.I think a LT1 has 54cc heads so if you run these with stock pistons it will lower your compression ratio by a ton.The same book has the edelbrock heads with 54cc CC.The trick flow heads sound great if you rebuild and go with different pistons. When I rebuild mine I want to go with 11. 1 compression. :chevy
Yeah, I've seen the Edlebrock heads. They have the stock size runners however and the stock size valves. So there is no point in purchasing them unless you don't have heads to begin with. A port and polish job would do the same or better than the edlebrocks for cheaper.
The ad did mention they are designed for supercharging or strokers so maybe that's the reason behind the large combustion chambers. Although they are the normal size for most of the previous SBC engines before the LT1. The stock LT1 chambers are 58cc and the LT4 are 54cc's. These heads would probably bring a stock motor down to 10:1.
I have had these heads on my car for over a year now. Yes they are for a supercharged car as they will lower your CR. I had mine milled down to raise the Cr after I removed my supercharger and rebuilt my motor because of a blown head gasket. :skep:
No they didnt as far as I know. I got them as proto type heads. I have asked for info on them for over a year from the place that installed them but have not got any info. I should have had them flow tested when they were off before my rebuild but was running low on cash and didnt. :banghead: So for all I know they could suck and my stock ones would be better.
