I have a stock 1985 Corvette with 72,00 original miles. Cracked the heads and heard that this is common right in the middle of the head. Looking for beefed up heads at a reasonable price without have to change cam yet increase compression just a bit from the stock 9.0 to around 10 - 10.5. Also any recommended gasket sets out there that I should look at or someone has good luck with a particular brand? Any advice appreciated and really needed since I just got the car and realizing that this thing could be a real headache. Do not want to lose faith in this car......
look into the aluminum heads used later on... 86-91... have them worked over and you can get some nice power bumps... but you will almost have to upgrade the intake.
Check out the world products torquer heads they come in 2 chamber sizes they will bolt on just like the original 85 heads and are a much better design...
