I have been breaking in the new 377 over the weekend and I noticed that sometime while going up hill the car would have a miss under part acceleration for just a split second. I hooked up a scanner and checked for trouble codes and code 42 came up.
After driving it for about 30 minutes today the miss is more evident and is happening more frequently.
If anyone can suggest where I should start trouble shooting I would really appreciate it.
Re: HELP...Code 42 (EST), what to look for? (zelement)
Check the EST connector kind of between under your brake booster and wiper motor. The one you have to disconnect to set the base timing. It is brown with a black stripe. When that disconnects you'll get that code.
Disconnect it, spray some brake cleaner in there, connect it. Disconnect the battery for 1 minute too. If it still persists it may be the other end of the wire back at the distributor.
Re: HELP...Code 42 (EST), what to look for? (zelement)
The problem still exists. I have recently replaced the ignition module and according to the service manual, the only thing that is left is the ECM. However, the problem could be in the wiring (hope not).
There is got to be someone on here that have experience this problem. Any advise would help.
