For get it I think I know what it was, they guy that put my new plug wires got the wires messed up and it was misfiring I got it taken care of. Its working ok now :D

Welcome to the forum. Next time, you can put a piece of masking tape with the cylinder number on each wire. It's quick, easy, and avoids the problem that probably everyone has done at one time or another.
vettspd20...As for the distributor; yes, any pre-computor SB Chevy should work. I think from '82 back. I would get one from a local "re-cycle"(junk) yard so I could see what I was getting. The last one I bought was $25.
