My factory cd player won't except cd's a lot of the time and it takes me several times to get it to finally play, so I'm thinkin about upgrading to an aftermarket cd player.
What I really want is a flip face cd player that flips completely over to be a flat black surface, like the Sony CDX-M600 (ebay has pics). My friend had this player in his stang and it looked very clean and operated well.
I'm just curious if anyone has pics of this cd player or one similar where the face flips completely around? open face & closed face pics would be great. Thanks.
Re: Pics of flip face cd player installed??? (red95vette)
I'd like to see some of these, also, as some day I may swap out the unit in my '95. But, I'll bet there's some good things brewing in the stereo forum...
Re: Pics of flip face cd player installed??? (red95vette)
Be cautious, if im not mistaken I believe the mid 90's corvettes factory
radio location is to narrow for an aftermarket radio.
They make radio dash kits to install an aftermarket radio into a larger
opening like most of the standard gm din and a half openings, but measure
the width of your stock radio and see if you can actually install an aftermarket without having to trim your dash. :)
Re: Pics of flip face cd player installed??? (Kevlo)
I use the PIONEER DEH-P77DH. I paid like $185 with shipping. It fits just like the old radio, but obviously is much better. Its not a flip up face, but it is detachable face. I found one on ebay if anyone wants to see what it looks like. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=39762

that is not true. the 1990-96 is a normal double din. the 7998 fit just fine in my 92's dash.
Re: Pics of flip face cd player installed??? (Kevlo)
I have a flip face in my 94. Just got a digi camera for christmas, so I will open it up and take some pics, but I have no idea how to post them (or even use the thing) at this time.
Re: Pics of flip face cd player installed??? (JADVette94)
I have a '94 and OEM stereo is smaller in width than aftermarket and required the dash bezel whatsit to be cut to accomodate my Alpine system.I will try and post picture in the morning
Re: Pics of flip face cd player installed??? (BlackRoseLT1)
I have a quick question. Maybe I missed it somewhere, but I have a flip face Alpine as well and the bezel that goes around the A/C and radio won't clear the cage that the radio slides into. Any ideas or experience with this problem? Where did everybody else get their installation kits? I take it that I need to re-install mine.
