A buddy of mine has a set of LS-1 stock injectors he thinks may work in my L-98. Is this true? Also he put Ford SVO injectors in his LS-1, would that work on my L-98 also? If not, I would appreciate some ideas on where to purchase nice upgrades, with a reasonable cost.
IMO getting bigger injectors on an otherwise stock engine (assuming this is true) is a complete waste of money and time. If mildly modified, an AFPR to adjust the fuel pressure is much more practical.
If you need to replace your injectors, either get them refurbished or buy a new set. If I'm not mistaken, the LS1's flow at 25# per hour, the Ford SVO's at 24#, stock L98 injectors are rated at 22#. Yes you COULD use them, but you'll most likely need to get your a/f tables recalibrated (ie, burned chip).
If I'm off-base, the pros will be here real quick to straighten up the mess I might have made :bb :D
You are pretty close :) the LS1 stock injectors I have heard are rated at 25lbs, if thats true being that the LS1 fuel rail is rated at 400kpa while the L98, and LT1 engines are rated at 300kpa the resulting change would make the 25lb LS1 injectors final rating to be 21.6lbs. So if the L98 injectors are rated at 22lbs then the LS1 units would work fine.

Ahh thats right, I should have pulled up my lesson manual! :banghead: (actually I have one, its a compilation of Ims and emails from a group of you guys who are my mentors  )
I came upon some interesting info the other day on the C5 tech sect. It is from vetteguru.com, and states the flow of the LS1 injectors.
97-98 28.4 lbs/hr
99-01 26.4 lbs/hr
ZO6 28.2 lbs/hr.
The site also has a formula for base crank horsepower for each application. :seeya

:iagree: Go with your stock size unless you are building your engine up. You will have more problems then it's worth. The Ford SVOs are #24lbs and the later L98s are #22lbs.
I bought the Bosch Design III - 22lb injectors from fiveomotorsport thru ebay for about $210 including shipping. I think these actually flow 22.4 @ 40 PSI - a slight improvement from the Multecs 22 @ 43PSI. I'm currently reassembling the car - I should be done by Friday. Note the clips that hold the stock injectors to the fuel rails cannot be used on these injectors. I called Bruce about this and he said to omit them.

I have these on my 92 LT1 and they work great! :yesnod:
The fuel rail clips must be used in the top position or if you dont you will have a vacume leak at the bottom bung!
