Im looking at speed-o-motive stroker kits. http://www.speedomotive.com/383%20Mighty%20Mouse.htm
Devil, please DO NOT get from S-O-M. Good prices but very bad quality! Please avoid yourself problems. I have been dealing with them, have been to their shop, and have one of their motors with some of their parts. Terrible quality control. IM me if want detalis.

I have heard the same from many other people.
I actually went in a ride in a SOM 383 equipped TPI vette. I felt slower than stock!
I bought a destroked 400 kit (377 cu in) from them and it was all good stuff. I'm running it in my '84 with no problems. As far a power goes, it's all up to you. I chose my setup (cam, compression ratio, ignition etc.) and am happy with the power output. I have had nothing but good experiences with them, just make sure you talk in detail what you are after.
I must reply to this one. I have a Speed o motive 383 short block. I have been running it for almost 4 years now and it's a daily driver. It has been beat on too and taken to the track. I have had it up to 7200 rpm several times. I am very impressed with this engine they built.
The customer service i received was outstanding. I called them to order and he must have spend almost an hour on the phone helping me make a cam choice, piston choice, etc....He even talked me into a 2 bolt block because I thought I wanted a 4 bolt. This choice was based on the use the engine was going to receive that I told him.
Well when I got the engine it was a 4 bolt, remember I had ordered a 2 bolt. I checked my paperwork and I was only charged for a 2 bolt. I called them and asked if I got the correct engine. They said yes, they were out of 2 bolts so they subbed a 4 bolt for me at no charge. Did I mention they ship free too?
My ONLY complaint was the turnaround time. I waited at least 2-3 months for the engine. They responded it was the balanceing dept being overloaded every time I called to see how it's going. I was close to canceling but the last time I called they said it was shipped.
I'm glad I waited. I feel I got a very good engine FOR THE PRICE.
So, the moral of this story is listen to people that ACTUALLY have a speed o motive engine, not just people that say they HEARD that their engine were crap.
I haven't ordered anything from Speed-O-Motive since the 1980s, but the machined parts I got from back then was OK quality, and held up well in the motors I built.
And if I remember correctly, they had the best prices on name-brand pistons, rings, bearings and other packaged parts (you get the same things no matter where you buy them, so might as buy cheap).
