I don't doubt that cut back plugs enhance performance, but how does that affect longevity? You folks that run cut backs, how does the life compare to regular plugs? I'm planning to do mine, but I am concerned that cut back plugs may not last in a daily driver.
I've had the same set of cut-back Split Fires in the IROC for around two years with no adjustments; the set of cut-back AC Delcos in the Vette needed gap adjustment twice last year.
In both cars the ignition systems use the HyperTech coil/cap/rotor, parformance wires and plug gaps of about .045".
There are two differences that I can see:
-spark plug brand
-driving style, i.e. the Vette sees the 1/4 mile frequently but the IROC only sees around town duty these days.
So, you might want to recheck the gap about 6mo after installing the cut-backs to see how they are holding up in your application.

Thanks, I'll try them and see how they hold up. Checking plugs frequently is probably not a bad idea any way. Thanks again , Dave
