Default Valve Cover Question

If I wanted to go to an aftermarket valve cover, would I need the short, or tall for my 85? I know the covers on the car have the bolt on the outside edge but wasn't sure which of the two I needed...

thanks,
david

You'll probably have power brake booster clearance problems with the tall ones. I had to have a set of tall ones notched on the driver's side rear cover on an 86 I built recently. Had to go with tall ones to clear the Jesel shaft rocker setup.

I installed new ones on my 86 a few months ago. Went with AC Delco chromed covers which have "Chevrolet" stamped in them.
They're thicker than some of other the offerings and shouldn't warp like the stock ones did.

Hope this helps.

Go with Proforms, they are this much taller and still clear

Yes the wiper motor is the problem. I went with a set of talls that where custom made.

They are made by the same company that does LPE and Callaway.

To save money go to your local O'Reilly and buy some silver finish 1500 degree paint and take your valve covers off and paint them just like i did, saves alot of money and looks brand new....
