Mine did start making a similar noise after replacing my rear brake pads. The ticking is driving me crazy but I just checked the bearings this weekend and there was no play in them. The springs are set in the calipers fine and I couldn't find anything that looked out of place. I really don't want to take the whole damn thing apart just to find the source of the ticking but I might have to.

Ha ha..... I have the same ticking as well! My C4 has been sitting for about 5 years and Ihave got it back on the road. In the last couple days I have noticed the ticking noise. It is gradually getting louder. Please post what you find out!!!!!!

I noticed a zert on my u joints.... hum I wonder if that my help.... anybody have the u-joints go dry?

If they've gone dry, the roller bearings will of gone to powder. The replacements most of us use have no zerk fitting as it is an argumentive weakpoint in the main body of the joint.
