...We do use high grade material
to insure the best quality and delivers the highest shine in the market
today....

I notice they don't say anything about the durability of the coating. I'd give up a little shine to have the coating last more than a few weeks :mad

Eric
I would tend to agrea with you. Your experience is not a good customer service situation. I am hoping that JetHot will look at this post and possibly do something for your situation (I emailed the post).

Yours is the first bad situation I have heard about and it is significant. If I had known about it prior to my coating my parts, I would have thought twice.

I need to clarify Jet Hot’s warranty. On all new parts, Jet Hot offers a lifetime corrosion warranty. We also offer a 3yr finish warranty for new and used parts. Under the lifetime corrosion warranty, the parts, if rusting for any reason, can be sent back to Jet Hot to be fully stripped and recoated for no charge. Under the 3 year finish warranty, you can send the parts back for re coating under warranty if you are unhappy with the finish for any reason. Jet Hot doesn’t warranty the coating if it gets over heated. The sterling silver finish, which is the popular coating, is rated up to 1300 degrees. If the headers get above this temperature, even for a few seconds, the coating will discolor. At this point, the coating is damaged and is very likely to rust. Although this is not covered in the warranty, Jet Hot will recoat the headers one time for no charge under the 3 yr finish warranty.

The Jet Hot coating has been continuously upgraded for the last 20+ years. Jet Hot makes our own coating on site. Our coating is not sold to any other companies. Jet Hot has two coating locations, one is in Mississippi and the other is in AZ. The main office is located in PA. If any shop states they can Jet Hot parts at there own location, and we have come across several, it is false.

The Jet Hot coating has been developed to be the brightest, strongest and most durable on the market today. We have had parts sent back for recoating due to customer’s modifying the parts. Although the pipes were bent, the coating was still intact. The Jet Hot coating can be bent up to 45 degrees without cracking or peeling the coating. If something gets on the coating, such as oil, grease, etc., it can be cleaned off with some aluminum polish.

If anyone has had a problem with the coating, Jet Hot has always been more than happy to work with the customer within reason. If the person has had parts coated by Jet Hot and isn’t happy with the coating, we can bring back the parts, strip off the coating and offer a full refund.

If there are any questions, please feel free to call or email me.

Thanks
Chris

The Hooker coating, although applied in mexico, is supplied by HPC and is the same formula used in the USA.

Yes, but our friends down there sometimes don't seem to do all that well in the application process :flag

Very cool, exellent customer service! I'd like to take you up on your offer. Will you pay shipping too? Also can I get my two other shipping charges reimbused? (I shipped my brand new export pipes to you, then paid again for your second recoating).

BTW, I received great service on my warrenty recoat, and I did understand the terms before I made my purchase. JetHot did honor the terms, without ANY hassles.

Any comments about my experience? My export pipes didn't overheat, the coating wasn't up to the winter salt that's so common in Chicago.

I would like to get this all set up for you as soon as possible. Since I can't pull up your information, I will need to contact you to go over all the details. Jet Hot doesn't cover shipping cost normally, but I would like to see what can be done for your satifaction. If you would like to call me or you can email your phone number.

Thanks

Had a set of manifolds Jet hot coated back in '98 on a Fiero. still looked good when I sold the car 2 years later. One thing wa alarming though, they glowed red for the first ten minutes after installing them! They dulled a bit afterward but held up. The heat in the engine compartment was cut down for sure.
May do the same for my 'vette.
