what's the best way to check for a leaking injector
There may be an easier/better way, but I had to pull the plenum, runners and fuel rails. Then lift the injectors from the intake and energize the fuel pump to visually check.
If there's an easier way, I'd sure like to know about it for the future.
Correct me if I'm wrong. But I'd say just hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve (small bicycle type valve with a plastic cap on it on the fuel rail). Then get in the car and pressurize the fuel system by turning key to "ON" not "START". You should hear the fuel pump pressurize the system. Turn the car off.
Record the gauge reading at that time. Come back in a few hours and see if it has changed. If the fuel pressure has dropped considerably then you most like have a leaky injector. This is not 100% true as faulty regulator could cause a fuel pressure drop as well.
I think another method is to simply pull the rail and pressurize the fuel system with the injectors attached to see which ones leak or don't leak. I've never done this though.
Get a fuel pressure gage and attach it to the valve on the fuel rail, turn on the car but don't start it then turn it off, the pressure (around 40psi) should stay up for a couple hours. If it drops off quickly it could be the Injectors, the Regulator or the Check Valve at the pump. Good Luck..
I helped a buddy troubleshoot a cutlass once with the same problem. Turns out the ECM was bad and it was dumping fuel in the cylinders. Goes right past the rings and into the pan.... oil was like water  .... not good. Get that taken care of fast! Don't want your oil to lose it's lubricating abilites.

Then pinch off the return and outbound rubber fuel lines located on top of the fueltank (under the rubber bladder). If the pressure still falls off, most probably leaky injectors. Also check the vacuum line from the FPR for fuel. It should be dry.

I just finished checking my injectors and they look fine there not leaking I checked them with the fuel pressure gage and I took them out and turned on the car no leaks but I noticed that I have oil in the back and front of the intake ???
thanks
