What are the differences between the C4 and C5 powersteering pumps?
The C5 dosn't seem to have the high rpm problems that the C4 has.
Can the C5 pump be used on the C4?
After analysis, the loss of power steering at high rpm is probably attributable to cavitation or overheating. I sent the pump to Lee Mfg for a reduction of flow by installing a smaller rotor (the next size down about 75%). There is no noticable loss of assist at low RPM. Also went with Lee fluid. Haven't been to the track yet for a real test, but so far so good.
Note that the LT4 pump is reverse rotation and requires special reassembly.
