Default GM 1985 TT Corvette

From the Corvette Museum:

I found some information about this engine in a book I have.

This is the GM TT V6 Corvette in the text:

This is the Thumper Corvette in the text:

This must also be one of the GM TT engines:

Does anybody have any more information about these 14 TT Corvettes?

I have no info on these cars, but I do have a friend in Glendale Ca with a Buick grand national making 900hp with 37 lbs of boost. on an INdy block...I have thought of that setup as well.....who knows...good luck with the search.
Cheers,
Robert

wow, 37 psi is a ton of boost but doable with the indy Stage II block. fyi, they just released a new all alum high strength block for the v6 which will make 1500+ hp potential. not cheap at around 3500 for the block, but repairable with replaceable sleeves (like my beloved LT5!!!).

my little turbo buford runs 26 psi and makes right around 700.

roguevette did a really nice 9 sec stage II c4 vette that made the setup look very nice, the technology is there is you can "get over" running a little v6. they do spank some serious power.

I would like to see more setups like Meaney did, 1200 HP, on a twin turbo (or big single) streetable v8.

with the new high strength dart blocks, a nice TT 427 C4 sure sounds nice. not cheap to do, but the results will be AWESOME~!!

fyi,

SGC is now working on a TT ZR1 which is my dream car. I am still also actively seeking a talented builder willing to do a 94 LT1 Auto. SGC may do these later but will be tied up quite some time sorting out the TT ZR1s and keeping up with the demand.

anyone out there working a turbo c4s????

the BTfreak is the only one who I have seen take the plunge.

thanks for any info.

I am in the beginning stages of the turbo build on a 96 LT4 collectors edition... engine/ tranny are out for the fundamental block build to handle the power. the custom fabrication will begin within a few weeks. my goals will be modest to begin.. But, I have come to know myself quite well.... I have built countless LT1's LT4's.. and I never am satisfied with where i get.. I always want to build more.. I think its the challenge more then the actual track times or speeds... I feel consumed with passion when I'm building corvette motors, so I am sure down the road this project will be escalated... but for now I will start with succesfully building it and getting it to work, fit right, look natural under the hood (as best as possible) and be reliable!

wow, 37 psi is a ton of boost ....

What is humorous is that that is a ton of boost by today's standards, but nothing by the standards of long ago race teams.:)

those race teams are usually full boogie motors running alchy or super high octane.

you are correct that the offys and other race engines run a whole bunch of boost and make outrageous power.

glad to hear about the C4 build up. I may elect to do an LT1 turbo auto rather than risk the ZR1. the zr1 currently makes 500 rwhp but is beginning to feel tame.

the little turbo buford makes around the same rwhp but much more torq and at only 20 psi. at full song with race gas at 26 psi, it really comes alive!!!

You could run that boost too, if you don't mind running toluene. Or a blend of toluene and gas. Rocket fuel. Just remember to take out ALOT of advance, as toluene accelerates combustion beyond imagination. Thats why It can't detonate, no time for a second flame front to begin.
