Default just intake runners?

Anyone added just new intake runners without a new manifold or anything? Something like SLP's or TPIS large tube runners? I'm just down to there swapping out some fuel injectors and had the idea...

eh, from what I understand, not really... the base is the real killer to performance... :banghead:

Okay, so which base? I noticed if you get the mini ram base, then you gotta get the fuel rails, and bla, bla, bla.... Keep in mind, I don't have anything fancy as far as mods go. Just the free stuff so far.

I don't think you'll realize any gains until you add an aftermarket base like the Accel or TPIS

You can get some power from the bigger runners available, AS&M is probably the best set. 10hp is definitely possible.

But replacing the base is proven to give about 20. Any of the bases will work: TPiS Bigmouth, Accel SR base, Edelbrock.

Just try to port match everything when you put it together.

I have to agree with everyone else, there will be NO gain with Runners alone.

Intakes are an expensive game entry price $1200 bucks, so do you want to play.....

Of course there always the LT1 conversion for about $500 which will provide similiar gains.

The best advice I can give would be to decide on what the end product will be and save for the whole thing at once.

You need to look at the intake as you would the exhaust...a system.

Removing a restriction will simply bring to light the next most restrictive element. So doing just base or runners will not yield as much gain as doing both.

If you want to keep the TPI characteristics with better top end go with the ACCEL base & AS&M LT runners. If you want to shift the power band upward go with the mini-ram or super-ram setup.

For a no cost improvement in top end you could do the siamese base. It will markedly extend top end with minimal low end loss (details & dyno pulls on my site).
