Crankshaft pulley wobble?
I put this problem in my post about my 383 running but I thought this would be better for responses. I just got the engine put together and started it and the crankshaft pulley is wobbling. Not enough to throw the belt off but enough to be noticeable by looking at it. It's the 2-piece LT1 pulley. Where should I start looking to fix this? Is it possible that the hub is not aligned on the crank properly, since it's not keyed, and causing this?

Any chance something is between the pulley and hub? Are your bolts tight? How hard of a fight was the hub to get off? Could you have bent it taking it off?

The hub was pain at first, but once I got it to move, it came out easily. I guess I'll pull the pulley off again and see if it is bent. It looks like it is on the hub square. If the pulley looks straight, should I buy a new hub and try that? How hard is it to pull the hub with the motor in the car, I pulled it when the motor was out so I have no clue about doing it in the car.

Hub is a big pain in the car due to the front crossmember. Hub is alot cheaper to replace than pulley. Pulleys are almost 475. I would take off pulley and check the mounting surfaces of it and hub. Still a pain in the rear though.
