I think it's the IAC... but I wanted to share with this bunch first...
This problem is more common with a cold engine. The colder, the worse it gets, apparently.
Cause it reached Critical Mass this morning. My 92 coupe barely started. It would turn over, then die. I could hear the fuel pump.
So, I finally got it started and held the idle manually for about 30 seconds. I left it to run once the idle caught... about 400 RPM. By the time the engine was up to normal running temp, I had good idle of about 750 RPM.
It seems to me that the IAC is all gummed up... and perhaps, the gunk, when cold, is too much for it to overcome... needs that touch of warmth.
