Drive Shaft Question?

All of the shop manuals instruct you to remove the entire exhaust system in order to remove the drive shaft. Is this really necessary? It looks like I can get away with only removing the cat and rear "Y". Thanks for any help.

You should be able to get away with just that. Last time I had the driveshaft out, I didn't have to pull down the mufflers or front Y.

I drop mine from the cat back to the mufflers just becuase it is so damn easy to remove as one large piece. :yesnod: Takes all of 3 minutes.
