Well, I was out there for 2 hours and I cant get the damn pin out. What did you guys do, and how hard was it to get out? Maybe I am doing something wrong. Any other tips would be appreciated also. :)
I used a punch and a small hammer to tap my linkage pin out. Guess I was lucky, because many have had to literally beat theirs out. My advice would be to try a little harder to tap it out, don't remember hearing of anyone damaging their linkage by tapping too hard.
Also, there is a chance the pin was installed the opposite way. Has the trans ever been out of the car?
Tranny Has never been out of the car. I was out there for another hour and the thing will not budge. I have the c clip off too. Should I worry about driving it with that off. I will probably try to get it to the shop on Monday to get it up in the air. Any other tips I should know about, please do tell. TIA.
Can you do all the install from inside the car or do you need a lift to get under it? How long does a instll take?
I'd call it an advance DIY project. There's a write up in the tech section. You have to remove the exhaust (most folks do anyway), pull the consule apart etc. It's pretty involved, but worth it!
