Strange problem, about 2 or 3 times a week, if I start the car (hot or cold) the engine will initially start but dies. If I restart and hold the gas pedal down just a bit, it starts and runs fine, but if I don't hold the pedal down just a bit, it'll die again. Someties, I can also restart imediately after this and engine idles fine..
Other days car starts, and idles fine immediately.....
Not getting any codes, Have cleaned the MAF and TPS connections, fuel pressure is OK. Engine always starts, doesn't stumble.
So I figure I have some sort of electrical intermittent... Do I have a balky Idle Air Motor?
Not a big PIA, but gets kinda interesting when I'm sitting at a traffic light holding the engine at idle with one foot and the brake pedal too with the other foot.... (fortunately I'm ambi-footrous...rolleyes: )
Sounds like maybe you have a bad injector that is leaking. Next time this happens hold the gas pedal to the floor when starting, this causes the computer to go into flooded mode where it cuts all the gas from engine. When you slightly push the pedal the computer thinks you want to add more gas just adding to the possible flooded condition. Have you checked the fuel pressure with the car off, it should hold pressure for sometime I think it is like at least an hour, you might want to check the book to be sure on the time limit.
