Ode to %(ing MAF Sensor relays!

I've had several electrical gremlins lately and seemingly all at the same time!
Car has been running like Cr%P, no power: rich exhaust; lousy mileage: soundlike running on 7 cylinders, intermittently "hunting" at idle and at speed!
Car never threw a code! Until lately!
First, no code, scanner showed problem with o2 sensor! Yep, the wire from the sensor burned up on the exhaust
Second, finally got a code on ESC failure. Found the plastic on the knock sensor had gone south and the wire fell off
Still, with these things fixed, ran like crap and no codes
Finally, last night, on a trip to Richmond, the engine started to cut off and then come back. Did it three quick times and threw a code. Make a long story short, CODE 34!
Upon checking, the MAF wasn't getting any voltage! Installed a new relay and ...Problem solved! Apparently the relay had been going bad, acting intermittently for some time and it finally quit and threw a code!
The only test I can find for this condition is to check the E terminal on the MAF sensor connection, prope it or use a test light to ground and see if you are getting 12 volts.
Less than $10.00 part! Fortunately I avoided my usual solution of throwing in new parts till I solve the problem
If you are having similar conditions, try changing the relay

I took MAF readings with my scanner but, and maybe that was the warning, they were inconsistent!
After I changed relays today, things are back like they were, everything is lovely!
