My 93 anniversary convertible six speed, had a great day at the dyno. Last Sat. we went to Lee's Performance, Concord,NC for a few dyno runs. The first pull it ran Max Power @ 272 rear wheel HP. The torque was 311.4. Using a lap-top we made some ajustments to the fuel curve. The next pull was 286.8 rear wheel HP, with the torque 317.5. The changes to the computer gave a increase of 4 mil/gal. of fuel. My 93 is stock, except for a K&N filter.
I think this is great little vette.
:hurray:
That's for sure.
I'm thinking of doing the same in the near future. Do you know what the #'s are advertized to be?
I'm new at this, what kind of print-out do you get from these machines and how did you use the laptop to reconfigure. Any info would be appreciated!
Congrats! :hurray:
The 93 is 300 fly wheel HP.
My son is a student in the Mechanical Engineering and Motorsports program at UNC Charlotte. A picture of his Car at the dyno is on his web site. (www.49erstreet.tk). His Mustang is on the dyno. It pulled 379 rear wheel hp.
One of his friends at the university Programs chips. His web site is (www.pcmforless.com). He was at the dyno and programed my chip, while it was on the dyno. :hurray: :auto:
it looks like Alvin at pcmforless did it... I'm mad though, I freakin have bolt ons up the yin yang, and barely got 294/328 @ the wheels. I'm probably going to start programming myself soon... I guess I'm missing something, if that's the case I guess I should be getting 315 at the wheels. Those numbers are just great... maybe he has one of those factory beasts that GM lets out here and there. This is mine at the bottom.
jtb,
The exhaust is stock. Only mods are the K&N and the PCMforless chip.
GlockLT4,
Alvin at www.PCMforless.com is a good friend of mine. He did the computer tuning for the Vette as well as my Stang. He is very good at what he does.
Those are some great numbers! I have a ruby also, but it is a coupe and is all stock. Two questions: how is the overall drivability of the car with the reprogrammed chip? Also, what rear end gears are you running?
my ruby just turned 49k. The car really drives and rides like a new car. I can feel the change in HP in the seat of my pants. The car has all original parts, except for new tires, replacement serpentine belt. Add on are K&N filter and programed chip. that is it!
jtb,
In person the car is really quiet. At the dyno someone made the comment that you could bearly tell it was running at idle, but we all have really loud cars.
Compare the sound. http://www.coe.uncc.edu/~bktedder/pi...Dyno%20run.MOV
I think your car was built on a Wednesday. My car (pre supercharger) with a Vortex Ram Air, air foil, Flowmasters, and by-pass put out a whopping 262rwhp! I think my car was built on a Monday or a Friday :lolg:
For another data point comparo, my '93 with 110K miles and only K&N and open air lid did 277/311 at the wheels. Everthing else stock. pretty good numbers. SAE corrected on dynojet. Cam, heads, and bolt-ons in the future!
