What's going on here? My stock 96 LT-1 with 60K did 254/282 rw and I was told by the dyno crew that those numbers were right on the money. I've heard that stock LT-4 HP numbers although "rated" at 330, actually can vary from 340-390HP. Is there that kind of range for the LT-1 as well?
tobijohn,
From what I have seen and been told 250-260 range is right on par. Only explanation I have is the car stronger than average and has great tuning.
My LT1 is stock except for the K&N and computer programming.
:steering:
If your car was a '94 or '95 I'd be asking you for a printout of your PE tables and such, as I just got an AKM cable and recently downloaded Tunercat :reddevil :reddevil
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the only thing you can tune that makes a difference at WOT is the PE air/fuel ratio tables? I've heard the LT1 factory PE tables tend to be on the rich side, I think around 10:1 or 11:1 in the higher rpms, but I thought leaning the WOT AFR into mid to high 12's (12.5:1 - 12.9:1) only was good for around 10 flywheel hp on an otherwise stock setup?
This is Alvin. I did the programming for Mr Tedder's car.
I'd like to say believe it or not the car started off with 266rwhp with one of my chips and w/ my timing tables then after tuning some of the fuel tables among other things in about 10-15minutes we had the car up to 287rwhp. So in actually a pickup of over 28-30+rwhp isn't too far fetched. Especially considering we pulled the car probally 8 times and the car was getting heat soaked.
The reason why you see 277rwhp and 286 or whatever is because the dyno guy just printed out the last two runs. We got his dyno sheet as he was basiclly packing up the dyno. I wished we would have gotten the first run and then the last run. Or even a run with the absoulute bone stock chip.
You guys can call BS if you'd like :p: We got witnesses! I myself was very impress with out much I was able to get out of that completely stock 6speed with K&N
Alvin, as a matter of fact I wrote y'all earlier about a '96 Z28 with some issues/wants, I'm trying to convince the owner (partially mine haha) to go for it, but we'll see, hopefully you'll be pulling some business from us real soon.

Alvin,
I'm up here in Raleigh. I may just come down and see you guys. I'll send you an email from address listed on your website. I own a 92 w/A4, mostly stock.
Graham
Alvin, if you can gain almost 20hp on a stock LT1 then what do you think is possible to get from an LT4? I know it is OBDII so i dont know how much business you do with them
You'd have to ask bryan. PCMFORLESS is two people Me and bryan But i'm sure a equal gain is to be had.
From above you saw that we got close to 30rwhp on a stock vette. Bryan I know has gotten around 40rwhp from a newer SS truck. It just all depends but you'll be surpized what the factory misses out on.
