Auto-Trans Converter question--
Just had my Trans rebuilt--before when I kept it in 1st when I let off the gass it decelerated just like a stick--both 1st and second--This was when I was racing so i could use it like an engine brake--now after my rebuild it dosen't do it any more it more like free wheels when I let up off the gas--was my old converter/transmission messed up and this is the way its supposed to work--wanted to check with you guys before I called the trans shop and asked--is that "converter lock up"?

It has nothing to do with the converter. I would have to check the manual to be sure (I only have a manual for a 4L60E, but it should be the same), I believe the 700 should have "engine braking" in the first three gears. Thats the way my 2004R is too. It is less noticeable in third but its there. If yours isnt doing it, there may be something wrong.
