I'm excited and I had to tell somebody, and I don't think my office mate will appreciate my enthusiasm. I just got my j-bends in this morning to make my 2 1/4 cross over pipe for the turbo setup. Me and my mini-mig welder will be busy this week :D I've also got a set of 72# injectors comming and an Accel DFI Gen 7 with wideband on the way too. It looks like my fully bolt-on turbo project could be completed sometime soon, YEAH!!!!!
Now if I only didn't have to sit in front of this compter for another 8 hours.....I wish I had more vacation :leaving:
SWEET!!! I want a DFI VII, but I am doubting the funds will be available after everthing is said and done. I envy your setup, sounds like you are well on your way. Where did you get your 2 1/4 J" bends? I got my 1 5/8" box of bends a week ago and have been playing with them. I basically have a turbo collector built, but don't have the crossover in it yet. I still have ALOT of unfinished business for my car. What are you going to use for an intercooler?
Well, the funds for the DFI came from my government implamented savings plan...er....tax returns. Buying a house was probably one of the best things I've ever done.
As for an intercooler i'm not doing anything currently. I figure if the vortech people can do 6-8psi than so can I especially since i've lowered the compression ration. Once I know things work then I might add something, but for now I've still got my nitrous spray that I'm planning on using while at the track. :D
Oh yeah, and I am keeping my a/c It would have been alot easier to loose it and there would have been more options for the turbo, but I'm spoiled I want it all!

But the s/c's run cooler than turbos....I guess since the comp ratio is lower you'll be fine, and making a butt load more power than 6-8 on an s/c

That seems to be everyone's opinion no matter what goes under the hood. I'm surprised how unwilling people are today to remove their A/C. When I first started building cars over 10 years ago people seemed to have no problem removing it. Besides, where's the challenge in removing the a/c anyway? I will never remove it. Not just for bragging rights, but I want comfort.
I would have went with a twin setup if air cond. wasn't important to me. Mine is staying as well. I expect more from my "street" car than others do. I personally have not seen a twin on a C4 with air yet. Do you know of any? Baldturbofreaks car is one of the only ones I've seen with air and a turbo, period. Unfortunately, my build up will not help many people out, due to the fact that I am putting an LT1 in my car using mostly L98 accessories. Good luck, and keep us posted.
I can't say that I know very many C4's with turbo's period, with or without air. One big key to my system is that I wanted it to be bolt on, fully reversible and easy enough to install that just about anybody could do it. I figured that way I shouldn't have a problem  I'm jsut going a little above and beyond what the normal driver would consider adequate horsepower :yesnod:
Now here's the real kicker, if I run an intercooler with the small turbo that I've got it's going to push it well past the efficiency range of the turbo cfm. So it's not going to help as much as you would think. I'm probably better off getting a full bottle and using a 35hp shot whenever I'm at full boost and full throttle.
I am planning on getting a bigger turbo, but there's no reason to jump the gun until I know for sure that the turbo setup works.
That 35hp shot will do the job of cooling, just make sure you get enough gas in there
Oh yes, built 396 with all forged parts........as for the gas I'm running dual walbro's and should have the 72# injectors anyday now.
Why not just run water/alcohol injection???
because the nitrous is already there, set up, and ready to go. Besides I have to cut costs somewhere.... :D
But just a little update, the crossover pipe is connected to both headers, now I've just got to finish the 12" piece in the middle, add an O2 sensor bung and weld on the flange for the wastegate. Getting close now.
Anit..you shot me an email..I responded but it was returned mailer-Daemon error er something like that.. anyways..email lt1guy95@aol.com on the street twin...website is
MN... the brown truck has been bringing boxes on a daily basis... My wife is starting to wonder if I own stock in a tool company.. I can't wait for everything to get here so the process can begin. I will be sure to document the build up!
