You may want to change your valve springs before spinning your LT4 to 6700 rpms. Jim "96GS#007" Mason is running his LT4 to 6800 rpms, with upgraded valve springs. Maybe he will chime in on this thread.
6700 will be fine. Keep a close eye on your valve springs and consider them a "wear item" if you race a lot.
I just switched to Crane p/n 99845 H-11 Tool Steel Springs. I trashed a set of springs from Combination Motorsports in less than 6 months doing driving schools, open track sessions and auto-x's.

What did you have to do to make those springs work? I assume they are not a drop in replacement.

They actually turned out to be a drop-in. I was afraid the ID of the spring was going to be too small to clear the LT4 locator. In place of the LT4 spring seats I was going to run L98 seats. As it turned out the springs fit the LT4 seats. You'll need the appropriate retainers as well.
