LT1 temp gauges?

LT1 temp gauges?
I bought my 94 about two months ago and the two temp gauges (digital and analog) have never read the same temp. The digital gauge always reads between 170 and 190 while the analog gauge is between 190 and 220. My concern is that the ECM works off the same sensor as the Digital gauge and could cause my car to over heat in the summer. Has anyone else seen this problem? I know it is probably a sensor but I don't realy want to replace both and dont have an analog gauge to see which is corect. Could this be normal because of the sensor locations? Any help would be great.

my coolant temps match to within 5 degrees under all conditions. i think if you're really worried about it, you'll have to test with a mechanical gauge to decide which sensor to replace.

Digital temp comes from a thermisistor on the waterpump ... analog comes from the passenger head. Passenger head is always going to be hotter than the waterpump digital temp.
