but seriuosly its the check system start/stop code :hurray:
OBD II codes are 5 characters long Pxxxx where "P" is for powertrain and "xxxx" is the numberical code. A 5 character code will not display on the 3 character digital speedo.
You either need to take it to a shop, a parts store (some will scan it for free), buy an OBD II code scanner, or buy OBD II scanning software and interface cable for use with a laptop.
As for resetting the SES light, sometimes disconnecting the battery will work and sometimes it won't. Just recently I had a couple PCM codes that, after the problem was corrected, still required me to use my scanning software to reset/command the light to "off".

I had a check engine light come on prior to my retrieving codes, mine was for an O2 sensor. I replaced the sensor and the check engine light hasn't come on since, didn't need to reset anything for it. The problem I have now is that I still get a code c13 for the O2 sensors, I'm not going to worry about it though, I don't think it alters the performance of the engine since the problem has already been corrected. I hope.
